Mass-produced goods are prohibited in the Handmade category
What Etsy says
Mass-produced goods may not be listed in the Handmade category. Items made by a seller are physical items made by a seller by hand or using personal or computerized tools — using a templated design or pattern sourced from others is no longer permitted.Read Etsy's full Etsy's Creativity Standards
How to stay compliant
- Remove any listing where the item is sourced finished from a factory, wholesale supplier, or dropship service.
- If you use a production partner to manufacture original designs, disclose that partner on each affected listing (Shop Manager > Listings > Edit > Production Partner).
- Replace stock product photography with photos that show your own workspace, tools, or making process.
- Rewrite listing descriptions to explain your design process and the tools you personally use.
- If you use a CNC, laser cutter, or 3D printer, confirm and document that the design files are entirely your original creation — not downloaded templates.
